Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick
(see below on how to make Cheese-On-A-Stick), is one of the many things that
adds to the "smells" of Cedar Point. Other than at amusement
parks and at fairs, it is sometimes hard to find this unique snack. After
some trail and error, we have come up with the recipe for Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick.

Ingredients
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup sugar

Cheese-on-a-Stick
is the same as Hot-Dog-On-A-Stick,
except it has a block of cheese substituted for the hot dog. It can
be mozzarella, American or a Swiss/American blend.

1. Heat up the oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees.
2. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.
3. Mix in the milk and eggs (yolk).
4.
Mix with an mixer until batter is smooth.
5. Take a chopstick and jab it through a hot dog, about half way.
6. Dip each hot dog into the batter until the dog is completely covered.
7. Once the excess batter drips off, quickly submerge the hot dog in the oil and spin it slowly so that the coating cooks evenly.
8.
After slowly spinning the dog around a few times, completely submerge it.
Turn it once or twice. Leave it submerged for about 8 minutes or until
you notice the batter is dark brown,. Depending on how big your deep
fryer is, you can cook several dogs at a time.
9.
Once the dog is cooked, take it out and let all the oil drip off. There
you go, you got Cheese-On-A-Stick!
